Many thanks to all those that are joining the website ready for our first tool auction, it’s is only a few days away now, starting on Thursday16th September 6pm GMT (Just in case you haven’t seen it advertised).
For those who have yet to join, we have been working on this for over a year now to deliver a brand new auction system that is here to stay for many years to come. Tony Murland ran these tool auctions for well over 20 years and we would like to see the original Live auction event brought back in its full glory with many new features that will be of real value to crafts people who appreciate old tools and the skills around them.
We want to bring clarity to online tool auctions and excitement to future live events that members will find interesting, useful and enjoyable where friends new and old can meet.
The redevelopment of the website is by future standards is in it’s primary stage, much bigger technologically the many websites but with simplicity of design for the user. It will evolve over time with many new features that will improve the online auction experience.
Joining us adds two dates to your calendar per year, where you can learn about & bid for good old tools, whether you win or lose those auctions it’s a great experience and fun.
Whilst we understand the hesitancy of a few that want to see what they get for membership costs, please consider this.
- Membership is good as it keeps idiots out!
- Membership means being part of something that will grow.
- Even the BBC isn’t FREE
- Facebook bombs you with adverts tracks your activity (spy’s) and send pics of someone’s dinner!
- Ebay = Chances are you could be buying old tools from a Beeny bear dealer!
- The Saleroom – Extra 5.95% in charges on top of what is often higher auctioneer buyers premium.
Reminder: Basic Membership – £20 per year = 38p per week – A good article per week would be worth that! How many things will you learn from our first tool auction? And you get two of these per year! Plus you will get a chance to buy many tools that aren’t easily found.
Those that do join as members can be assured they will get a proven good online service and an expert eye! We will endeavour to bring more and working towards this every week to progress what’s on offer. It’s going to be a place where people can learn more about old tools, meet new friends and with the right support from members bring events, videos, written content and much more besides.
This website at this time is at its dawn and we have the capabilities to ensure this progresses and flourishes to shine in the future. Our aim has always been to improve the old tool industry, we are not scared of the hard work needed to improve things further.
If you still aren’t convinced about joining us to support our efforts, just think there are over 300 auction lots this September starting soon at just £5 and I’m sure those involved will be more than happy to bid without you!
Also only members get to see final sold prices once the tool auctions are completed.
