It’s been a busy week online so my attentions have been very much concentrating on our Tooltique website but we did get out this week and picked up some nice lots that will be of interest to those collecting woodworking tools.
Noticeably a nice little 19th century Buck smoothing plane in very nice condition and a most unusual Griffiths of Norwich reeding plane with a separate reversible reed that turns it into a follow-on reeding plane or one that isn’t. There were also some nice 19th century saws amongst other things so all interesting stuff and going the right way. Our Auction Lot Tickets have now arrived so it won’t be long before we start getting this show on the road and get some much needed photography done for this website.
There was a lot of general tools collected this week that had to be processed for Tooltique, I also got the van serviced ready for the next few months ahead.
The end of the week has given me a little time to work on this website again, although it’s generally in the settings area and the less exciting stuff, hence why i thought to take ten minutes out to write something in the blog.
The worst job this week was contacting our internet & TV channel supplier and sorting out our contract which seems to be inflated every year due to being a loyal customer, 2 hrs later it saved us around £480 for the year and better service. It could be deemed good time used but honestly why on earth couldn’t this be automatic, especially if they have got better offers for their existing customers. I think they can learn something from the past where quality and reputation was far more important than just being big.
That’s the highlights of my week with many, many tasks less rememberable in-between.
