Hi everyone, there will be 300 good quality lots to kick off our online tool auctions and as you can see we have included more images per lot to ensure bidders get far better information prior to bidding. Yes, it’s a lot more work for us but we feel it’s essential for buyers so the can feel confident on what they are attempting to purchase.
Yes its only 300 lots but that’s because we didn’t want to add a load of tatty old tools that very few are interested in or tools that are widely available for rarity or because of their original condition.
We have always felt general auctioneers have been reluctant to do this and it always needed someone to set new standards for the future.
As time goes by and with enough encouragement and support we will do our utmost to break new ground where Antique & Vintage tools are concerned.
It’s our first attempt at doing the tool auctions and we hope things will continuously progress with more help from others we already know and those we get to know in the future.
16th September 2021 at 9:41 AM #7658Well, today the 16th of September and the tool auction is finally upon us, the auction items start turning on live at 6 pm GMT tonight ready to receive bids.
There were improvements made as late as 12 pm last night finalising small tweaks that no one will notice but hopefully when needed makes things clearer.
Maybe we might get to speak to a few members that get time on here to discuss some of the lots on offer? I’m more than happy to answer any questions.
Anyway, we got there for this first stage of development and hope you like what you see so far.
Good luck everyone, I hope you have fun and win the tools you are after!
24th September 2021 at 8:19 AM #7759It’s been a manic week after the auction with packing and posting all the tools out and processing payments to the tool sellers but it’s nearly completed now.
Many thanks to everyone who bid and who was involved, we have another 6 months now to improve the auction system’s speed, etc. We have learned much from holding this tool auction that we will endeavor to implement these improvements before the next tool auction event.
There were some lovely tools in this first auction and we have spoken to a few buyers who have helped by given us some feedback on what they would like to see in the future.
I think that many were trying to get used to how things worked but with all things considered it was a good starting point and something that can be built upon.
I’m sure likewise as we get used to things we will get this running like a well-oiled machine in time.
I hope those I’ve yet to hear from, enjoyed the tool auction and are happy with what they purchased, especially with all the lots being represented properly with good images, etc.
Kind regards Steve
