Lot 288 – In our September 2021 auction is a rare Henry Slater 18” cast steel short Jointer Plane with what could be a walnut infill, hard to tell really but it’s certainly a heavy plane. It’s certainly not every day you find these that’s for sure and these are very hard to find. Condition is solid and good for its age, flaw in the infill behind the tote. Est: £400-600

Not a fan of the front infill ( bun).
It’s certainly not the prettiest of planes I’ve seen but I had a panel plane that also had this same bun.
Very uncommon plane, the style of it probably had something to do with limited production and why these are so scarce.
