This is old News and relates to the first stage of development, we have upgraded and added a new and improved bidding system and some old content will have less relevance.
Initially, we had set ourselves a goal of having this website completed by January 2021 and in many ways, it has been achieved but like all good things it has progressed and we have recognised that there are always ways these things can be improved.
Yes, we would have been ready for March but in some ways, I’m rather glad we now have a few more months to refine things and build the content aspect of the website. If only I had all day every day to do this but like Tooltique it looks like it will take a good while to enrich the website to make it more interesting for those interested in this subject.
Many websites only have content but with very functionality and that’s where this website differs from all other old tools websites. Not only does this website have an eCommerce with an auction functionality, but it also has memberships, forums, and an improved more informative user account interface that allows users to manage their activity. The automation of buyers’ premium discounts according to the membership is also a new feature.
Those following our progress with this build may think it has been developing slowly but we are building bespoke functions that require thousands of lines of code to enable these functions to work properly and most importantly the management of those functions. Once they are implemented it’s a case of checking everything again to make sure nothing already working has been affected and fix these issues as they arise. Going around in circles is very much part of it but important with what we hope to achieve.
I must admit though it will be lovely when we can start photographing some of the lovely old tools we have here and writing regularly about them and any new finds that come along over time. When this is compared with my next task of adding all the shipping rates for all the countries it sounds bliss.
Anyway better plug on with it all but I thought it was worth keeping you up to date with what’s going on.
